sass&peril is a creative studio specializing in screenprinted paper and textiles as well as Graphic Design. Owner and artist Shannon Kennedy has nearly a decade of experience working as a Graphic Designer in addition to starting her own line of handmade goods. After many years in the corporate design world she decided to focus on her own art and started screenprinting again, a skill she learned while studying Graphic Design in college. This hobby turned into a full-time business and has evolved into a cohesive line of hand screenprinted paper goods such as art prints, stationery and journals and textile goods such as pillows, totes, and garments. sass&peril designs are heavily influenced by mid-century styling and can best be described as modern with a playful twist, great for both kids and kids at heart.
Products & Process:
My motto is concept to completion and I see this through by meticulously designing, producing, and packaging all my products in my Long Beach, CA studio. Screenprinting may be more labor intensive than machine printing, but the process is truly handmade with a texture you can see and feel. And because attention to detail shouldn’t end at the design level, sass&peril products use recycled papers by French Paper, organic fabrics when available, and are always printed with non-toxic water based inks. Want to learn more about the screenprinting process? Check out our new video!
