I can't seem to find a better picture of these fantastic Jason Wu for Melissa shoes, but check out the emblem. Hoot hoot! Everyone could use a pair of these cute plastic shoes!
Next spring,
Jason Wu will be following in the thermoplastic footsteps of
Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, and Jean Paul Gaultier when he launches a collection with Brazilian shoe brand
Melissa.
WWD reports that Wu will be doing a capsule collection of two styles, both of which are iconic Melissa silhouettes: the Ultragirl ballet flat and the Lady Dragon peep-toe slingback. Each style will be available in black, burgundy, nude, and a transparent gray, and will feature Wu-like elements, such as a sunburst on the peep-toes and the Ms. Wu owl logo on the flats.
And as the designer is wont to do, he'll be adding his signature lace element to the inside lining—only this time it'll be a
printed-lace image along the insoles. To celebrate the collab, Wu will be flying to Brazil this month to wrap the flagship Melissa store in the same (but this time, giant) cut-out lace.

Jason Wu’s real Twitter account. Wu tells
Vogue UK that
@MissWu_NY was inspired by the label’s owl muse and the tweets give readers a bird’s eye view of the haps behind the company at the moment. Wu also says that while his collections are a result of a lot of effort and many late nights, there’s still a playfulness and lightheartedness side of things. We’ve been following Wu since his Twitter debut and ‘Nistas, you should too! [

Alexis Bittar for Jason Wu gun owl pin seen on the Fall runway. As reported by Rachel Waldman for The Moment, “Fans will recognize the owl, a k a Miss Wu, the designer’s muse and logo (“perhaps because of too many late nights sketching,” Wu says), and also appreciate Bittar’s gutsy take on it.”
